After back-to-back North Two West defeats, the Lake District outfit bounced back with a strong display at West Derby.
Determined to end a poor run of results, Mere took out the frustration of not playing last week because of the weather with a stirring display which leaves them only four points behind leaders Wilmslow, with a game in hand.
Skipper Keenan Quill and man-of-the-match Will Dolman both scored twice, with the other goals coming from Tom Dolman, Sam Whitehead, Scott Santamera and Chris Toward.
The result sees the sides switch places in the league table, with Windermere up to fifth ahead of Saturday’s home match against Urmston at Lakes School (1pm push-back).
Windermere seconds drew 4-4 with Preston fourths in their mid-table North West Division Five game.
Mere led 3-1 at one stage, but conceded three goals and had to come from behind to level.
Their goalscorers were Tom Simpson, Matty Clark, Tom Whitehead and Edward Evans.
Jake Fisher and Luke Blezard shared the man-of-the-match award.
