WINDERMERE moved back to the top of North League Division Two West after a thumping win over Liverpool Sefton.

Mere bounced back from their shock loss to Lancaster and Morecambe by smashing home six goals to move level on points with Brooklands MU.

Penalty corner strikes by Will Dolman (2) and Tom Maloney, plus field goals from Harry Jackson, Ed Brownell and Tom Whitehead proved too much for the Merseysiders, who dropped to third in the table following the 6-2 reversal.

Windermere are on the road again this weekend, travelling to play Crewe Vagrants.

Windermere seconds scored within the first two minutes against Preston fifths, but could not maintain their advantage, eventually losing 5-3 in their North West Division Five North fixture.

Mere’s scorers were Isaac Ravenhill, Jimmy Dunlop and Tom Wright.

Windermere Ladies seconds drew 2-2 in their latest Netherwood Development League match at Kirkby Stephen Junior Ladies.

Zoe Birkett and Chloe Balmer scored Mere’s goals.
