ALL eyes will be on Hawcoat Park tomorrow for a crunch relegation tie in the North Lancs/Cumbria Division.

The Maroon and Whites face Aldwinians in a crucial bottom-of-the-table match.

There is less riding on affairs for Furness, Millom and Windermere, but all take to the field as the Cumbria League season draws towards its close.

HAWCOAT PARK v ALDWINIANS

(Hawcoat Park, 3pm)

TOMORROW’S clash is a must-win for Hawcoat Park.

Both sides are among five who could be relegated, with a win the only way to preserve their existence in the North Lancs/Cumbria Division.

Whitehaven and Ashton-Under-Lyne are already down, with the battle on to avoid following them.

Last week the Maroon and Whites were beaten by the referee and some bizarre decisions at Tyldesley, but they have a strong side out this weekend.

Jason Priss misses out after receiving a red card for retaliation, but back from rugby league duty are Jack Sutherland and Luke Cresswell, who will make a big difference in attack and defence.

Also returning are captain Adam Grainger, Brad Morrow and big Ryan ‘Rhino’ Milner, whose runs will cause chaos for the opposition.

Pack regulars Mike Lightfoot, Will Mallinson and Dan White will need to be on top of their game to help snaffle up the loose ball and give clean access to Johnny Burrows at scrum half.

Ash Mowat’s rugby this year has been superb. He and Callum Ramsey make a formidable partnership.

John Donnan will be fighting for a starting shirt, so a headache is expected for the selection committee.

James Howden will be looking to link-up with Burrows from stand-off, with Chris Burns never far from the action.

Wing men Matt Burrows and Liam Murray will want plenty of ball to take Aldwinians on out wide.

COCKERMOUTH v FURNESS

THE Blues are on the road in the Cumbria League, having been let down last week when Moresby could not raise a team – something they managed easily at home the week before.

South Cumbrian sides seem to fall foul of this problem on a regular basis – something the league would do well to sort out.

There are missing personnel for Furness, with Martin Ward, Iestyn Humphries, Dillon Tapatu, Leon Sweet and Sam Dutton all out. They are hopeful Sam Attard will return.

Influential stand-off Steve Perry is looking to be fit and will try to get Attard and the men outside him away.

Tez Nueto and Will Hetherington will be looking to keep their wide berth shirts and add to their good points tallies for the season.

Late fitness tests are needed to see if Alex Brown and Tadgh Butler are up to first-team rugby after injury.

Rhys Studt’s game has been immense this season and he will be looking to continue his rich vein of form and keep Furness on the front foot, along with skipper Joe Mallinson – who will play either in the back line or bolstering the forwards.

With George Smith at full-back, Furness have a reliable set of hands who can get them out of trouble with his kicking and all-round ball work.

Forwards selection is sketchy, but ever-present Cameron McLure will lead from the front.

KESWICK v MILLOM

MILLOM end their Cumbria League season at Keswick and, while the result does not affect the table placement, the Blue and Whites will be looking to continue the push they have made in the latter half of the season.

With some great young players coming through, Millom will be a force to contend with next year and they should be proud of what they have done in the last eight months.

With no Danny Redhead or Trevor Dixon, the visitors still feel confident and be looking to take the ball on at every opportunity.

Steve Watson, Dean Doyle and Ian Cummings make up the front three and, with Kieron Coulson and Regan in the second row, the front five look robust and able to take Keswick apart.

Joe Thomlinson moves to the back row in a physically strong-looking division which needs to be first to the breakdown to put clean ball out to scrum half Chris Park, who on his day can mesmerise any defence.

Craig Mounsey and Steven Forster are the men on the wings, capable of scoring from anywhere on the pitch.

John Falconer will be looking to break the line in attack, with centre duo Ryan Carter and Steve Clarke always on hand to help out their fellow backs in pursuit of points.

WINDERMERE v MORSEBY

MERE travel to Moresby hopeful they will not be let down as Furness were by their west coast counterparts.

The Dawes Meadow side are unchanged and will be looking to gain the odd position in the table as the season comes to an end.

Moses Dawson and Bertie Hogdson will be looking to get the team up and running from scrum half and stand-off.

Centre duo Josh Holmes and Rory Hodgson will want to be taking on the Moresby defence early doors and will need good ball to get them away.

The front three will be pivotal in clearing the ruck, so Jamie Hardman, Dan Harrison and Leigh Todd will have to be on top form, getting around the pitch to the breakdown. Johnny and Greg Benson will be backing up the trio in their pursuit of ball and will back up the front row to the hilt.

Jon Sheasby will lead charge of the back row, with Tony Hayes and Joe Turner in close attendance looking to get their hands on any loose ball.

The pace and guile of Tony Atkinson and Adam Duncan out wide will give Moresby nightmares if the ball goes quickly to them.

Skipper James Crawford brings up the rear from full-back with his superb kicking game.
