ULVERSTON are aiming to make it a hat-trick of wins when they host Ellenborough tomorrow, while also in the Cumbria League Roose Pioneers aim to get off the mark at Seaton. Barrow Island are on their travels and head to Maryport.

In the National Conference Division One Millom greet East Leeds, while Dalton make their final Pennine League trip to Yorkshire to face Sharlston.

Ulverston v Ellenborough

Dragley Beck 2.30pm

ADAM Mills and Dwayne ‘Dinger’ Bell return for Ulverston as they bid to make it three Cumbria League wins on the bounce.

Phil Atkinson’s boys have made a great start to the season and though league newcomers Ellenborough are an unknown quantity, Atkinson is taking nothing for granted.

The former Barrow RL stalwart said: “Although I am confident of getting a win, we will be cautious as we don’t know too much about them. All I ask of the lads is to put in a good performance then we will be okay.

“We will be looking at what we can achieve. We are a good side this season and have competition for places, which is good. I have put last week’s defeat to Millom in the Barton Townley behind me. We had to do too much defending against them, but I feel our defence can lead us to a win tomorrow.”

Tom Knibbs also comes into the squad but missing out are Mark Wilkinson and Che Smith, otherwise it is a similar side to the one that played Millom.

Millom v East Leeds

Devonshire Road 2.30pm

THE Woollybacks will go into this clash with the Yorkshire side with an air of confidence following their Barton Townley semi-final win over Ulverston last weekend.

However, they will have to be on top of their game as they have yet to break their duck in the National Conference first division, having played three and lost three.

They go into battle minus key forwards Steve Dawson (hamstring), Matt Palmer (knee), Warwick Carter (unavailable) and Marcus O’Brien (shoulder). Also out is centre Joe Shaw (ankle). Owen Myers, who has a thumb injury is doubtful, while Ian Armstrong has work commitments.

Millom coach Tom Sibley said: “We know we are in for a tough game especially with so many important players missing. We are aware of what is required and we have to cut out silly penalties if we are to get the win.”

Into the squad comes Dave Thompson and possibly Connor Sykes, with others to be added after training.

Maryport v Barrow Island

RICHARD Chatfield, Joe Spencely and Scott Hadwin all miss the trip up the coast, but back in contention is Perry Singleton after a lengthy lay off through injury.

Island coach Joe Elliott said: “We will take a look at the A-team tonight before finalising the squad. We have a strong squad, we are going in the right direction and this game will be a tester for us. Maryport have several top players back, but we are confident.”

Seaton v Roose Pioneers

PIONEERS came so close to their first Cumbria League win of the season last weekend at Redwaters before going down 18-16 to tomorrow’s hosts after taking a 16-6 lead.

Adam Batty, Aaron Pike and Johny Sloane are unavailable but the squad is boosted by the inclusion of Furness union players George Smith, Joe Mallinson and Corne Els while Dan Sharp is also back.

Pioneers coach Steve Neale said ahead of the trip to the west of the county: “Despite losing narrowly last week I do feel confident that we can get a result. The bad weather didn’t help last week and I believe they’ll have four GB under-18s lads back for the game, but I just feel we can turn them over.”

Sharlston v Dalton

DALTON make their final trip into Yorkshire hoping to pick up the Pennine League Division One points on offer and will take in tonight’s A-team game before naming their squad.

Dalton assistant coach Owen Richards said: “It is our last away game and we are determined to fullfil the fixture, we have many players missing and some of the A-teamers will double up.”

BARROW AND DISTRICT

THREE fixtures take place tonight. They are: Ulverston v Barrow Island; Dalton v Askam and Hindpool Tigers v Walney. All games kick off at 6.15pm.
