Grange United U14s 0 Swarthmoor 11

SWARTHMOOR Under-14s dominated their top-versus-bottom Kent Valley Junior Football League clash with Grange United to remain two points clear at the summit.

Moor got to grips with the heavy pitch in Cartmel to keep up their 100 per cent record against a battling and much-improved Grange team.

Despite coming up against a six-man defence, Swarthmoor’s attacking formation managed to carve open Grange’s rearguard with ease and, but for some wayward finishing, they could easily have doubled their tally.

Goals from Alfie Thorpe, Jackson Donnan (2), Mitchell Baldwin (2), Arran Pender (3) and Jack Milburn(3) eased Swarthmoor to a ninth straight league win, with a man-of-the-match performance from Ross Lancaster.

A tougher match lies ahead on Sunday, with an away fixture against last season’s league and cup winners, Milnthorpe and District, who sit second in the table, with one draw and eight wins from their nine games.

Moor can take confidence from a 5-1 cup victory against the Greens earlier this season.
