Ambleside U14s 2 Swarthmoor U14s 10
SWARTHMOOR Under-14s produced a perfect 10 display at Rothay Park, with arguably their best team performance of the season.
Despite playing on a rain-soaked, heavy pitch, in Ambleside, Moor’s football was a joy to watch for the spectating parents.
They raced into a five-goal lead midway through the first half, with goals from Jack Milburn, Max Crewdson, Ross Lancaster, Freddie Burrow and Mitchell Baldwin.
Despite conceding their first goals since October, they overwhelmed the home team with some blistering passing.
Three of the first-half goals were lightning moves from defence to attack, with superb one-touch passing leaving the home side chasing shadows.
The fourth was a five-touch sequence from defence involving Burrow, Lancaster, Aaran Pender and Milburn, leaving Crewdson with the simple task of tapping the ball into the net.
In the second half, further goals from Milburn (2), Pender (2) and Kyle McKendry completed the rout against a good Ambleside team.
Swarthmoor are now two points clear at the top of the Kent Valley Junior Football League, with a 100 per cent record from eight matches played.
