WALNEY Windcheetahs' Greg Bardnard-Mackenzie win a thrilling finish to claim victory in Glaxo Hoad Hill Harriers' one-mile autumn fun run.

Only three seconds separated the top-three at the finish line, with Barnard-Mackenzie sprinting clear to beat Leven Valley's Will McNally on the home straight.

The Windcheetahs' time of five minutes 55 seconds was only a second quicker than his rival, with the host club's Justin Corbishley coming home in third in 5:58.

Barrow and Furness Striders' Georgia Bell was the winner of the girls race, finishing fourth overall in 6:19. He team-mate Jamie-Leigh Tyson was second girl in 6:43, just ahead of third-placed Felicity Boyle (6:51).

There was success in the senior women's 5k race for junior runners as well.

Helm Hill's Imogen Burrow won, followed home by Ulverston's Leven Valley AC runner Olesia Winder.
