Five Barrow Island aces and one from Askam will be part of the Under-17s team battling Yorkshire tomorrow in the first match of the BARLA Three Counties Tri-Series. Rating Lane products Alfie Thomas, Matty Brown, Robert Salt, Luke Thompson and Elliot Campbell, plus Fallowfield Park junior Keir Shepherd, will line-up with players from the West Cumbria area at Stanningley (2.30pm kick-off).
The losers of the opening game will face Lancashire on October 16, with the winners playing them later in the month in the title-decider.
Cumbria will host their encounter with the Red Rose county at Barrow’s Craven Park.
