DARK Destroyer Nigel Benn has sent a video message for the people of Barrow.

Former world boxing champion Nigel Benn will roll with the punches on a special night of entertainment at the Nines on May 19.

The 51-year-old former WBO middleweight and WBC super-middleweight champion will regale guests with tales of his life inside and outside of the ring.

Benn follows Ricky Hatton, current WBA lightweight king Anthony Crolla and the Smith brothers in coming to Furness.

Davy Trengove was also involved in bringing Paul Gascoigne to the area last year, hopes fight and sport fans will again turn out in force to see one of the most iconic figures of early 1990s boxing. Mr Trengove has shared a video message recorded by Benn to the people of Barrow.

As well as Benn, the crowd will be entertained by comedian Jed Stone and impressionist and Britain’s Got Talent finallist Les Gibson. The event starts at 7.30pm. Tickets – available for a table or individuals – are available from the Nines in Barrow.
