BARROW’S Vic Logan will make a little bit of history when he lines up for the Great Britain Masters rugby league team later this summer.

The 71-year-old grandfather is the oldest player selected in the GB squad who will face the Australia Masters at Heworth ARLFC, York, on Sunday, August 14.

Logan – who four years ago ended a 40-year absence from the rugby field when he started turning out in Barrow and District Masters matches – expressed his delight at being picked.

“My family will all come and watch. It’s wonderful news,” said Logan.

Sixteen clubs across the country are represented in the squad, with players from Cumbria, Yorkshire, London and the North West.
