TOTAL Warrior king Jeff Moses is celebrating another success by offering his expert advice and coaching to others.

The Barrow Amateur Boxing Club coach won the 50-59 year-old category in the 12-kilometre Leeds Total Warrior event in one hour, seven minutes and 14 seconds.

His super-fast time earned him an impressive 11th place overall in a race contested by more than 4,700 competitors.

“I was four minutes faster than last year, even though there were more obstacles on the course, so I was pleased,” said Moses.

“I altered my training this year so it was more specific to Total Warrior, rather than just hammering the running.

“I concentrated more on short explosive sessions which is what you need in Total Warrior and it worked for me this time.”

The Leeds event was a family affair for Jeff, with partner Becky Jackson participating for the first time and coming home in an excellent time of 1:28:58 to claim 13th place in the under-40s women’s category.

“She trains on her own every day. It’s the first time she’s done anything like this so she did really well,” said Moses.

Moses is now training for the Lakes Total Warrior event, to be held in Shap, on the weekend of August 6/7. And he has offered to help individuals or teams taking part in that race by holding free training sessions from Barrow ABC’s Brook Street base.

He said: “If any individuals or teams are doing the Shap race I can offer free sessions to help them with their training.”

Anyone interested in these sessions can contact Jeff Moses on Facebook or on 07732 500365.

Moses has had other reasons to celebrate sporting success of late, with former pupil Liam Conroy being crowned WBC World Silver Youth Light Heavyweight champion and current stable star Ross Cooksey winning a split decision verdict while representing a North West team in Spain.
