BARROW boxer Liam Conroy is eyeing more title success after being lined up for a crack at a world title.

The 23-year-old Barrow ABC product will contest the vacant WBC World Youth Silver Light Heavyweight crown at Preston Guild Hall in June.

The opportunity for a global title follows hard on the heels of Conroy becoming British Challenge Light Heavyweight champion in February, when he defeated Polish-born pugilist Krzysztof Golec on points.

Joining Conroy on an exciting bill is his stablemate South African Michael Ramabeletsa who produced an excellent display last time out at the Guild Hall to pick up the British Challenge Super Bantamweight title.

The undercard also features another boxer under the tutelage of Conroy’s trainer Johnney Roye – Leigh’s rising Lightweight Ashley Peyton – who will contest the British Challenge Lightweight belt.

Said Roye: “We had a great first MGM Manchester show at Preston’s Guild Hall in February. There were quality fighters and quality bouts. We intend on bettering the show that we put on in February and I believe we will do.

“Liam Conroy is set for a tough fight as he fights for the WBC World Youth Silver Light Heavyweight title. This will be a tough fight for Liam as he looks to hopefully gain a World Ranking on June 18.”
