HARRY Gordon makes a welcome return for Dalton, who take on Golborne Parkside at Kelland Park in the North West Men’s League First Division this weekend.

Half-back Gordon, was playing his best rugby for Dalton before being struck down with a torn Achilles tendon injury 18 months ago.

It's been a long road back from major surgery and his rehabilitation period has been tough, spending many hours on his own training hard to get back to match fitness.

Gordon comes into the squad, which is minus Jordan Jones, otherwise coach Dave High has a strong squad to choose from.

Roose Pioneers are on the road as they travel to Mayfield “A”, not on the bus are Sam Johnson, Taylor Roberts and Luke Chelton, the latter ruled out with a broken thumb.

Returning are Matty Roberts, Dave Finlayson and veterans Glen Phillips and Dan Sharp.

Ulverston entertain Chorley Panthers at Dragley Beck and welcome back Matty Storey, Dan Horne and Scott Houston, while rued out are Rowan Smedley (thumb), Charlie Robinson (concussion) and Josh Bayliss (elbow).

Hindpool Tigers are without a fixture, the same applies to Millom in the National Conference.

Barrow Island face a tough task away to undefeated Shaw Cross in Division Two of the Conference.

The Dewsbury side have six wins from six, while Island’s record is three from six.

Last weekend, an understrength Island side pulled off a fine win over a big Saddleworth side 28-24, and welcome back Sam Jones and Max Anderson-Moore, while Jordan Staffieri will have a late fitness test.

Missing from last weekend are Brandon Corrie and Josh McBain.

In the Vantage Competition Barrow League tonight Millom are home to Ulverston, while Walney host Hindool/Roose Pioneers.
