BARROW Raiders skipper Jarrad Stack believes they have what it takes to see off visitors York Knights tomorrow.

Having lost both of their opening league games - including a 23-22 derby defeat to Whitehaven last weekend from a late drop-goal by former Raider Jake Carter – Paul Crarey’s side are determined to bounce back.

The two defeats leave Raiders at the foot of the table, and they are one of just four sides alongside tomorrow’s visitors, that have yet to get themselves off the mark.

But second-rower Stack believes victory over Knights will push the Raiders back in the right direction.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “It’s been a disappointing start to the season.

“The team we have on paper is more than capable of replicating our success of 2022, but it means nothing if we don’t put the right performance in on a matchday.

“We are working very hard on the field and making everyone accountable, including myself.”

Tomorrow’s encounter is the first home game of the Championship season for the Raiders, and Stack is determined to put in a good showing for the fans in attendance at the Northern Competitions Stadium.

“Once things start to click, I think the fans will enjoy our style of rugby,” Stack added.

“None of us have given up on what we’re trying to do, and we’ll all look to put a performance in at home for ourselves and the people who are coming to support us.”
