BARROW AFC forward Dominic Telford says he was ‘buzzing’ to return to the starting line-up against Newport.

Telford has contributed four goals and three assists in this season, the last of which came on Saturday in Barrow’s 1-0 win at the SO Legal Stadium.

In his 30 appearances since joining the club from Crawley Town in the summer, Telford has made 16 starts and 14 appearances off the bench.

The 27-year-old returned to the starting XI for the first time on Saturday since Barrow’s 1-0 home win over MK Dons on February 3.

Speaking to the Club website, Telford said: “My body is sore, but I’m buzzing to be back amongst it. It’s a very important part of the season. I know when I play that I need to be at my best to contribute.

“It’s been tough for me since I’ve come in. There’s been spells where I know I can contribute more.

"I’m buzzing to contribute towards getting the three points. I’m hoping to do that more in the next eight games.”

Telford also highlighted that the team deserved to be in the league position they are having already beaten last season’s 62-point haul.

“It’s the business end of the season, but we’ve got ourselves in a good position. We deserve to be in the position we are.

"We’ve got a very good group with experience who have been here before. It’s a time of the season that everyone wants to be involved with.

“We take it game-by-game and we’ll see where we end up.”
