A JAMIE Proctor double was enough to give Barrow AFC’s B team all three points against Bolton Wanderers B.

The Bluebirds 2-0 win at Lostock Training Ground saw them keep up their perfect record in the Central League – with four wins from four games.

Jason Taylor fielded a strong side against Wanderers with Ben Whitfield, David Worrall, and Tom White all starting the clash.

Junior Tiensia, who was making his first start since late September, following a serious ankle injury, played the full game.

The Cumbrians made a slow start to the encounter as they struggled to get the ball down and play on a boggy pitch.

It was the hosts who had the first clear chance, but James Westwood’s seventh minute effort was easily dealt with by Josh Lillis.

As the half progressed, Whitfield grew into the game causing problems down the left.

In the 18th minute, Whitfield curled a low ball across the face of the goal to Proctor, but he couldn’t get his effort on target.

Five minutes later, Whitfield again tried to turn provider as his cross found Dom Telford, but his flick was deflected out for a corner.

And Whitfield was almost rewarded for his efforts when he picked up a flick on from Proctor, but Wanderers keeper Jack Dallimore saved his effort which seemed set for the top corner.

After the break, the hosts again had an early chance, Lillis pushing away Gio Loureiro’s close-range shot.

Worrall was then denied as his chip was tipped behind for a corner by Dallimore.

But Barrow did eventually break the deadlock in the 75th minute.

A misplaced pass by Dallimore fell at the feet of Proctor. It was a gift that the frontman wasn’t about to pass up, and he remained calm to coolly slot into the empty net.

Bolton had a chance to level matters on 77 minutes as Westwood broke and found Loureiro, but he could only blast the ball over the bar from close range.

It was to prove costly for the home side as three minutes later The Bluebirds doubled their advantage.

Wanderers again caused their own problems as they failed to play out from the back.

Owen Bray intercepted the ball outside the penalty area before unselfishly squaring the ball to an unmarked Proctor who made it 2-0 to seal the win.
