BARROW cricketer Liam Livingstone scored seven runs as England secured victory in their final warm-up match against Bangladesh before the start of the ICC World Cup campaign.
The dangerous all-rounder bowled two overs and was caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto’s brilliant low catch in the Three Lions’ four wicket victory at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Assam, India.
In a game reduced to 37 overs because of rain delays and a nearby earthquake, England were required to chase down Bangladesh’s 188-9 with 77 balls remaining, which they managed to do with ease.
Moeen Ali was the star of the show as he accumulated 56 runs by smashing away six sixes from 39 balls.
England are the current ICC World Cup champions after winning the 2019 tournament in a dramatic super-over win against New Zealand at Lord’s.
They get their 2023 campaign underway against their fellow finalists at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5 (Thursday).
