TOM Sibley is hoping for a big crowd at Devonshire Road tomorrow to help cheer Millom on in their quest for home advantage in the play-offs.

The Woolybacks are just 80 minutes away from clinching third place in National Conference League Division Three, which would confirm home ties in both the play-off semi-finals and the final, should they reach it

And player-coach Sibley is eager for the townfolk of Millom to get along to the match against Salford City Roosters, which kicks off at 2.30pm, and cheer his side to victory.

“It is important that the crowd get behind us,” said Sibley. “We want to finish third, which will see us have home advantage and a possible game with Eastmoor.

“Last week, we lost 30-8 at their spot and I was a little disappointed with the result, which I felt flattered them”

Salford are second bottom with just four wins and should not pose too much of a threat for the home side. However, Sibley is not taking anything for granted.

“They are not the best of travellers but you never know what kind of a side teams put out on the road, so we will be aware of any threat and will concentrate on how we perform not them,” said Sibley.

“It won’t be a stroll in the park and we will have to be on our game, the lads need to regain a little confidence after last week.

“We have to cut out unforced errors which cost us at Eastmoor and we have had a good chat about that game in Tuesdays session.”

Sibley comes back into contention after two weeks out, with Jonathan Hodgson, Noah Robinson, Hanley Dawson and Charlie Emslie all back in action too.

However, Ethan Kelly is struggling with a hand injury.

Askam v West Bowling

(Fallowfield Park, 2.30pm)

Askam have booked their place in National Conference League Division Two play-offs and are looking for a home tie in the first round as well.

Tomorrow, they hosts another of the sides aiming to make the play-offs in West Bowling.

Askam go into the game having moved into fifth position after a fine 32-16 win over leaders Stanningley last weekend.

“It was a fantastic win with our defence laying the foundation while in attack we were very good and could have had more points on the board, we cut them open several times but couldn’t finish,” said coach Dave Clark.

“We have to keep up the intensity of last week if we are to get the points, when we switched on against Stanningley we played good rugby.”

Keir Shepherd is back in contention, while Tom Wilkinson and Jamie Butler are unavailable.
