CHILDREN and families will again have the opportunity to take in a Barrow AFC game for free when Ian Evatt’s host Maidenhead United on Saturday, September 22.

The club and the Bluebirds Trust are repeating the scheme which attracted over 500 extra fans to Holker Street to cheer the team on.

Parents can now apply to their child’s school for tickets, which give both adults and children free entry to the Vanarama National League match against Maidenhead.

And Bluebirds Trust chairman Steve Herbert is delighted to be able to offer this opportunity.

“Our Trust ticket scheme was a huge success last season, with over 500 children and adults using them to watch Barrow AFC games at the Furness Building Society Stadium,” said Herbert.

“We are looking forward to working with the club again this season to promote the club within the local community, starting by offering this ticket initiative for the Maidenhead game.

“We hope to see many new faces at the game thanks to Trust tickets, and thank Bay Towage for kindly sponsoring the initiative.”

AFC managing director Andrew Casson echoed those sentiments and is in no doubt as to the scheme’s benefits.

“Growing the clubs fan base, and encouraging the next generation of supporters to attend our games is vital for the future of the club, and we are looking forward to working with the Bluebirds Trust again this season,” said Casson.

“Last year’s Trust tickets initiative was a huge success, and we hope that with some fantastic football being played on the pitch, local families will enjoy the game against Maidenhead and consider coming back to join us on a more regular basis.”

Schools in the area have been sent information about how pupils and families can claim tickets to the game.

If parents have yet to receive a letter, contact Steve at info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk and he will get in touch with their child’s school.
