Island have the last say in the cup

BARROW Island beat 26 Walney 26-24 in the first round of the Frank Reid Cup.

Barrow Island hit back with a jinking try to Will Oxley, which was unconverted, 4-6.
Walney went further ahead with two converted tries, firstly through hooker J Murray and then by M Bewley, both being converted by Nicholson, for a half-time score of 4-18.
In the second half, Barrow Island stepped up their game and went in front via two tries by Joe Elliot and one try from Matt Shaw. Craig McKinnon converttwo of them, 20-18.
Walney hit the front again with a fine try from fullback G Stevens, goaled by Nicholson, 20-24.
Island had the last say when I Irvine dived over for a try by the posts, which McKinnon converted.
