BARROW AFC hope to boost the squad with a new signing ahead of the weekend, writes GRAHAM DIXON.
But they were keeping their cards close to their chest as to the identity of their target or whether it was a loan deal.
With Mike Pearson suspended for Saturday’s home game with Mansfield, Barrow are short of cover for the back four.
Bayliss added: “Me and Shez watched him last night and will be talking again to him today.
“We need to speak to the chairman but hopefully we could have him signed tonight in time for Saturday’s game.”
In contrast to the defence, the Bluebirds will have their four recognised strikers available for selection for the first time this season.
New signing Lee Hunt and the experienced Paul Tait started in the 2-1 defeat at Cambridge where Nick Rogan had his first run-out as sub, while Jason Walker has recovered from a bout of tonsilitis.
l Barrow AFC are looking for new stewards at Holker Street – anyone interested should report to Safety Officer, Mike Forsythe on match days.
