Final meeting in Ulverston town hall tonight
THE final Ulverston town council meeting in the town hall will be held tonight. 

CHARITY: Kerry Sharp, the inspirational Ulverston woman who will walk the Great Wall of China to raise funds for the treatment of the disease she suffers from. Kerry has lost six stones in weight and will run in the Ulverston half marathon. Kerry has NF2, a genetic condition which causes benign tumours to grow within the nervous system, most commonly within the brain. Kerry is out walking with her Aunt Susan Botterill who will go with Kerry on the trip to China. Thursday 16th July 2015. MILTON HAWORTH

A SUNNY day has been forecast for today's traditional Lakeland fair.

CYCLING: Ten-year-old Keira Baggaley form Dalton is obviously delighted with her new trike after a generous donation from Integrated Network Systems Ltd in Barrow. Mum Melanie Baggaley launched an appeal via the Evening Mail to get her daughter her own specialist bike after Keira took part in one of the children's races at the Barrow leg of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series. Melanie and Keira are now planning a family bike ride together. Thursday 15th July 2015. MILTON HAWORTH

THE family of a lovestruck romantic, who cycled 174 miles twice a month to visit his wartime sweetheart, have paid tribute to the couple by recreating the epic ride.
