ELECTION organisers are seeking views on voting arrangements.
Barrow Borough Council is appealing for feedback on current polling districts and polling places.
Council chief executive and returning officer Tom Campbell said: “The council last carried out a review of polling districts and polling places towards the end of 2007.
“Due to the further electoral review for Barrow, it is now necessary to carry out a mini review.
“We are looking for feedback on any aspect of polling districts and/or polling places currently used and invite representation and comments from interested persons.
“Local political parties and councillors will be consulted and views are invited from electors within the parliamentary constituency of Barrow and Furness as well as persons who may have particular expertise in relation to access to premises or facilities for persons with disability.
“Local community groups will also be consulted.”
The review was due to start yesterday and representations must be submitted by August 22.
Information about the current polling districts and places is available on the council’s website at www.barrowbc.gov.uk or from the elections office at Barrow Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow, which can be contacted on 01229 876318.
Representations and comments should be sent in writing to the returning officer at the above address by August 22 or by email to elecreg@barrowbc.gov.uk
