WITH endless style, masses of space and in a highly sought-after location with stunning views, this is a home that Nigel Quinton was never going to walk away from.

While making the move from Chesterfield to Barrow for work, as soon as he walked into the house he knew he had found an ideal home.

He was sure wife Beverley would feel the same.

Now five years on it has been the scene of many great parties held in its big air conditioned basement and it was the backdrop for Nigel and Beverley’s pearl wedding anniversary celebration, where 100 people danced the night away on the solid wood flooring.

There have been wonderful cinema evenings thanks to the Bose surround sound cinema and screen.

It comes as no surprise that Beverley loved the house as much as Nigel did and it is being sold with great regret.

However, with their two children having grown up and in homes of their own, the couple have found themselves with space to spare and with their own parents a long trip away and increasingly needing their support.

The house, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Barrow, has a vestibule, entrance hall, two ground floor wash rooms, lounge, dining room, study, morning room, breakfast room, sun room, kitchen, utility, the lower ground floor with walk-in store room, entertainment/games room with access to a fully-fitted kitchen, a bedroom with a large walk-in and a six-piece en-suite bathroom, a bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a bedroom with a further en-suite shower room, and two further bedrooms with a family bathroom to finish.

Outside you enter the property through handmade wrought iron gates and railings into a deep garden frontage with extensive car parking and a large double garage with electric doors. To the back are beautifully developed landscaped extensive grounds with colourful mature borders and large paved patios.

Hedging and new fencing to all boundaries gives privacy and security for young children or pets.

The garden adjoins open countryside to the side and on a clear day there are views to Black Combe, Scafell Pike and Coniston Old Man.

The house has been maintained in immaculate condition throughout and modernised to the highest standards.

Talking about the house, Nigel said: “The house was built by an individual for himself to a luxurious plan and we have enjoyed looking after it.

“We have put in a new kitchen/utility and had a number of new bathrooms and a ground floor toilet; we have never really stopped but it is now complete.

“Outside there are three levels of lawn; Beverley does the garden, which she loves.

“We have spent a fortune on plants and this year we had intended to put it in the open garden scheme.

“Inside there are plenty of quiet places for people to sit on their own or read. There is the morning room, conservatory and we spend time in the kitchen/breakfast room.

“When they lived here the children loved the basement to have friends around, but we also love being so close to the Lake District.

“To the side of the house is farm land and from the lounge we can see the cattle and sheep with a mountain backdrop; it is such a rural setting.

“The lounge also has double glazed bay windows overlooking the garden and double doors which lead into the dining room.

“All five bedrooms are double rooms and there are three modern en-suites and a family bathroom.

“The walk-in wardrobe is big enough to be a single room, it is such a luxury. Even the landing has a big arch window, feature cornice, ceiling rose and raised ceiling and is such a nice place to sit on one of the sofas.

“People in town do know the house and a lot have been to parties here at some time.

“It is a great social house as well as a luxurious family home.

“We are really going to miss the house but ideally we need to be closer to family.”
