LOCATION was everything to the Miller family when they were house hunting in their hometown.

And when Grantley Road came on to the market Jayne and Tim Miller grabbed it straight away.

They loved the area, found they had great neighbours and saw the potential to turn the house into a wonderfully spacious family home.

The traditional semi-detached home has on the ground floor a vestibule, hall, lounge, living room, kitchen/diner, an orangery and a utility room. To the first floor are four bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate shower room.

Outside to the front is a garden forecourt with drive access while to the back is a low maintenance garden.

Talking about their home of 17 years, Jayne said: "We bought it almost as soon as we saw it because we had been wanting to move to that part of town for ages.

"We could see its potential and eight years ago we extended it to create a bigger kitchen, a utility room, a second bathroom which is handy when you have a family and another bedroom so that we now have four.

"Three years ago we added the orangery on which we love.

"We have spent a lot of time in the kitchen and the orangery; they are wonderful areas of the house for family get togethers and entertaining.

"The worktops in the kitchen are granite and there is an island as well."

Going through the vestibule of the house, an entrance hall gives access to the lounge, living room, kitchen and stairs.

The lounge has a lovely bay window with an original cast iron feature fireplace which the couple reclaimed from another house.

The living room has its own feature fireplace with a wood mantel and double glazed double doors lead through to the orangery with its two electric radiators, 12 power points, uPVC triple-glazed windows and uPVC double glazed door to the garden.

The kitchen diner also has a door leading to the garden and access to the handy utility room with its light wood effect wall and base storage cupboards, marble effect working surfaces, Belfast sink and plumbing for a washing machine.

Upstairs, the first bedroom includes a double glazed bay window, while the third bedroom has built-in wardrobes and storage. All four bedrooms have radiators and double glazed windows.

The shower room has a shower cubicle, WC, wash basin and xpelair while the bathroom has a white suite with roll-top bath, shower hose from mixer taps, WC, wash basin, one radiator, tiled surrounds, built-in cupboard with gas central heating combi boiler and uPVC double glazed window.

Jayne added: "Around three years ago we had the garden paved and there is a built-in barbecue area, wood fire tandoor and a water tap.

"We both work full time and are not gardeners.

"We have created a big house, but now there is just one son at home it is way too big for us and we are looking for a smaller house but still wanting to stay in this part of Barrow."
