Deceptive four-bedroom £149,950

Corrie and Co (01229) 825333

A BIG council-built house in a lovely area has been home for Neil Singleton since he was a young child and then the first home together with wife Kerry.

It has also proved to be a wonderful family home for their daughters Matilda and Holly.

This tastefully modernised mid-terrace home has two reception rooms and a kitchen/diner and, to the first floor, are four well-sized bedrooms and a separate three-piece bathroom suite. Outside there are gardens to both the front and back of the property.

Describing their home, Kerry said: "It is a proper family home and a very big house although you can't tell from the outside.

"We have lived here together for 22 years and have done a lot to it.

"We had a new bathroom put in two years ago with its gas overhead shower, the kitchen is around eight years old and we had new double glazing fitted around 10 years ago and at the same time French doors leading from the lounge out to the garden were put in.

"We have kept the big back garden simple because we both work full time and are not really into gardening. It is south facing and very sunny."

The front of the house outside has a low maintenance forecourt while the back garden has a patio area, out buildings and borders for planting. It is a nice safe area for children as well as it is enclosed.

The first reception room at the front of the house has fitted blinds and a feature fireplace with space for a gas/electric fire. It also has a picture rail and is a nice light room.

Kerry said: "The lounge is a lovely light room with the double glazed French doors going out to the back garden. We have decorated it in neutral decor with oak effect laminate flooring."

Another spacious family living area is the kitchen/diner with good sized windows giving views of the garden. The kitchen has a good range of modern, cream shade and Shaker-style base and wall units with T-bar stainless steel handles with a wood block effect laminate work surface. There is pastel splashback tiling and space for a fridge freezer.

The fitted appliances to be included in the sale are the filter cooker hood with fan and light, gas five ring hob with wok burner and stoves fan assisted, double electric oven with grill, light and timer.

The Potterton combination boiler, which has just been serviced, is in the kitchen.

Kerry added: "The bedrooms are all a good size and three of them are doubles. The fourth one, with views of the garden as does the third bedroom, is ideal for a nursery, study, home office or guest room."

The bathroom has a fitted modern white suite including a low level bath, low level flush WC and a wash basin with pedestal.

It is a much loved home and will always be special because it has been Kerry and Neil's first home together, but now Holly is studying business at Morecambe and Lancaster College and Matilda is changing schools they are ready to move and looking forward to their next home.
