Non-surgical cosmetic centre opens in Workington

Workington’s first non-surgical cosmetic centre has opened to the public after securing its own premises in the town.
West Lakeland Medical Group welcomed its first clients this week after opening a centre on Vulcan’s Lane.
The team of four – Christine McCutcheon and Bev, Phil and Sam Crosby – said the move would mean easier access for people to receive aesthetic procedures and more space to offer a wider range of services.
Their scope includes the likes of wrinkle relaxation, dermal fillers, lip enhancement, microdermabrasion and even laser teeth whitening.
Ms McCutcheon said: “This was our mission from the beginning but we have had to take baby steps to get here.
“Being based in the centre of town, with easy access to parking, will mean a more comfortable and private environment for our clients.”
The medical group, which was set up six years ago, was based in the Orchard House Surgery in Finkle Street.
Ms McCutcheon and Ms Crosby have a long career as midwives working locally, and still do so on a part-time basis, and Mr Crosby as a doctor.
“We have a very loyal customer base in West Cumbria,” added Ms McCutcheon.
“We welcomed our first customers to the centre this week.
“The popularity of our treatments is growing and top choices of our clients include dermabrasion, skin peels and Nefertiti mini lifts which tighten the skin around the neck area.
“Our medical skin products and serums are also proving hugely popular.
“We see a lot of men coming to us for skin and botox treatments – it’s not just something women enter into.”
She said the taboo around non-surgical cosmetic procedures had now gone.
She added that part of their success has been down to the fact they have 30 years of practising in the NHS.
All clients undergo a free consultation, and packages for Christmas and weddings are also available.
