Writer seeks Barrow shipyard workers

A WRITER is looking to speak to Barrow shipyard workers involved in building the Invincible class aircraft carrier in the 1970s.

PRESENCE The Barrow-built aircraft carrier HMS Invincible SUBMITTED

Ex-military correspondent Dan Entwisle is writing a book about Invincible through the eyes of those who came into contact with her from the yard to the end of her service life.

Mr Entwisle says: “Ideally I would like to talk to someone who remembers the day she was launched. I would also like to hear from someone who took Invincible to sea for the first time on trials. I hope ex-Vickers Armstrong workers might be able to help me.’’

Contact him on dan@danentwisle.co.uk.
