Woman rescued after fall on banks of Cumbria lake

A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called out to help a woman who fell and injured herself in Cumbria this afternoon.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team attended Coniston Water, after a report of a woman falling on the banks to the south of the lake at around noon.

The team were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service during the incident.

Rob Robinson, from the rescue team, said members helped the injured woman along the shore to reach an ambulance.
