Woman injured after being assaulted in Barrow street

A WOMAN received a head injury after she was assaulted in a Barrow street.

Barrow police are appealing for witnesses after a 29-year-old woman was assaulted in Hawke Street.

Police said the incident happened at around 3.35am on November 30.

Officers said the victim was approached by a number of males who were verbally abusive towards her and she was then pushed to the ground twice as she tried to get away. She received a number of injuries including a minor head injury.

The victim managed to get into a house and a small pane of door glass was smashed.

Police said the males, who are believed to be in their 20s ran off in the direction of Bath Street.

The males were wearing dark clothing and were around 6ft tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Cottingham at Barrow police station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
