ARMED police were deployed on Walney after reports of a person seen entering a property with a “rifle-type weapon”.
Police were contacted at 3.22pm today by a member of the public, with a man arrested in connection with the incident.
There was no perceived risk to members of the public and the incident has now ended.

A police spokesman said one male has been arrested on suspicion of committing a public order offence close to the scene. He was not wanted in relation to the firearms incident, but for a separate offence.
Bus services were temporarily disrupted in Walney after police cordoned off a street.
Tweed Rise was closed to traffic, with the number two Stagecoach bus re-routed via the promenade and Mill Lane to West Shore, and the same in reverse.
