PUPILS unlocked their imaginations to learn how to survive in the Stone Age.
Children from South Walney Junior School saw the ancient past brought to life when they got a handy guide of how to survive the harsh climates of the Stone Age.
Year Three went on a journey through the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic eras of Britain during an interactive workshop with practitioners from the Imagining History company.
The workshop immersed the children in the historical period and engaged them by using drama, performance and creativity.
During the exercise the group learnt how to use unusual Stone Age tools to save their friends and how to find their way back to safety in a cave.
The group also explored how those from the era trained as both hunters and gatherers.
They learnt how Stone Age people had to carefully select which berries they picked so they did not poison their tribe.
The pupils were then set the fun challenge of using team work skills to outsmart a terror bird.
The task saw them try to collect eggs from a nest without disturbing the bird.
South Walney Junior School pupils enjoyed their journey to the Stone Age which assisted their studies.
