A WALNEY man has been rescued by firefighters after falling from a roof while cleaning his windows.
Crews from Barrow and Ulverston, as well as paramedics, were called to a terrace house in Portsmouth Street, on Walney, at 9.30am today after a man in his 60s fell from the roof.
It is understood the man was cleaning the windows at his property at the time of the accident.
Paramedics requested the assistance of the fire crew's aerial ladder platform in order to safely access the man. He was taken to Furness General Hospital with shoulder and arm injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
