A MAN from Walney has been banned from driving after being caught drunk behind the wheel.
James Nicholson, of Delhi Street, was stopped by police on Jubilee Bridge on Sunday, April 10. A breath test revealed he had 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.
The 61-year-old pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday. He was banned from driving for 18 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
