Walney fire engine
WALNEY firefighters were called to rescue a disabled care home resident from a lift.
The crew was tasked at 8.34pm last night to reports of a person trapped in a lift at Tarn House Care Home in Mill Lane on Walney, next door to the island's fire station.
Firefighters manually lowered the lift and rescued the resident before reassuring residents in what has been the third callout on Walney in 24 hours. The crew left the scene after around 30 minutes.
