A FATHER of an eight-year-old child has appeared in court charged with possessing heroin with intent to supply.
David William Hunt, of Thames Road, Walney, appeared before Furness Magistrates' Court on January 2.
Mr Tom Snape, prosecuting, told the court that the 38-year-old was arrested in Barrow by police on December 30.
He was later charged with possessing a quantity of the Class A drug diamorphine, which is more commonly known as heroin.
Hunt, who was represented in court by Mr Duncan Nightingale, gave no indication of plea for the charge.
He was denied bail by presiding magistrate Mr Chris Harris and will therefore be remanded in custody.
He will next appear before Preston Crown Court on January 27.
