A DAD has been charged with a public order offence after allegedly threatening a child outside a primary school on Walney. 

Christopher Cooper hit headlines across the world last month after his Facebook post about alleged bullying at his son and daughter's school, North Walney Primary, went viral and was shared more than 100,000 times. 


North Walney Primary School The 37-year-old dad had claimed that the school and police had refused to take his complaints seriously. In his post, he also confirmed that he was being investigated by the police after he and his daughter approached the alleged bully outside school.

Police have now confirmed that a 37-year-old man has been charged with a section four public order offence – using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, towards a child on Walney on March 3. 

He is due to appear at Furness Magistrates' Court in Barrow on May 26. 

In a statement, a spokeswoman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "Police can confirm that a man has been reported to court following a public order incident on March 3. This incident relates to a verbal altercation between an adult and a child, where threats were made. 

"The man, 37, from Barrow, has been reported to court for section 4 public order offence’. He has received summons to court for May 26."
