POLICE are warning allotment owners to make sure they lock their sheds and don’t leave expensive equipment around.

The advice comes after thieves targeted outbuildings in Latona Street, Walney, between Friday and Saturday.

Sheds were broken into and property stolen.

A police spokesman said: “Cumbria police are taking this opportunity to ask allotment and shed owners to make sure they are locked up when not in use.

“Also, any high-value items should be hidden out of sight and covered or taken away and put in a safe pace.

“Anyone with information on these thefts or any others should call Barrow police on 101.”

Alternately anyone who saw or knows what happened can call Crime stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
