YOUNG performers are wowing audiences with their stunning shadow dance video.

Inspired by Britain's Got Talent winners Attraction, students from George Hastwell School, on Walney, created their own piece of shadow performance.

The charming dance and theatre work was filmed and became a hit on the special school's Facebook page.

The video, which features the song Colourblind by Darius Campbell, has had more than 4,000 views so far and lots of positive feedback.

Pupils from the Piel Class performed the piece using a screen in the school hall. Around 12 students were involved in creating the dance.

They put together the piece for the Dance Wiggle event at school in aid of the charity Happy Days. They showcased the dance to the whole school in assembly and received a great response and then shared the video.

The Key Stage Three group have weekly dance sessions with Debbie Flood, a higher level teaching assistant at school.

They were keen to try and produce a shadow dance after watching clips of the Hungarian group Attraction, who won the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent in 2013.

Some of the students have severe learning difficulties and profound needs.

Karen Baxter, the proud George Hastwell School headteacher, said: "It's fantastic. Parts are choreographed dance and some is free dance.

"When we put the video on our Facebook page it sky rocketed with views, likes and comments.

"The students are really excited by all the positive comments."

Mrs Baxter said the pupils really enjoy being creative and showing expression through dance.
