A ROYAL Air Force transport plane has been pictured close to Walney Airfield.
Eagle-eyed Simon Evans spotted the Hercules aircraft flying low over Walney and Barrow while he was taking pictures of the shipyard redevelopment.
Some residents had believed the plane had landed at Walney but the airfield's operator, BAE Systems, said the Hercules had not touched down.
It is understood RAF aircraft occasionally use the airfield to refuel.
