POLICE are appealing for information regarding the theft of a barrier on Walney. 

Members of the public have been warned after a barrier on Snab Point on Walney was stolen. 

The barrier, which was in place to prevent vehicles from driving across to Piel Island, was removed between 6pm on Sunday and 9am Monday.

It is believes that a vehicle may have been used to remove the barrier. 

Police are reminding members of the public that they should not be driving from Walney to Piel Island unless they have a permit to do so as they may be putting themselves and others at unnecessary risk.
