POLICE are appealing for information after headstones were damaged at a Walney church.

Cumbria police said the headstones were damaged at St Mary's Church, in Church Lane, on or around September 23.

Police said six or seven youths, aged around 14 to 16 years, have been seen at the graveyard.

Officers are looking to identify anyone involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact police, referencing incident 190 of September 23, by emailing 101@cumbria.police.uk or calling 101. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
