YOUNGSTERS at Walney Island Football Club are calling for residents' help to pay for a much-needed new fence.
The club's existing fence, which is rotten and broken in places, is in dire need of being replaced so that the 100 young members can continue to play safely at their Tummerhill ground.
Coach Andy Livingstone is leading the fundraising campaign and hopes to raise £5,000 to allow the club to install a new fence.
He said: "We are solely supported by our members and local sponsors so it's critical we get some funds together so we can continue to provide what we feel is a great offering for our local community in a safe and engaging environment."
