A KITCHEN fire that took hold in a Walney hotel this weekend resulted in two fire engines being called to tackle the blaze.
At 7.39am on Sunday October 1 fire crews from Barrow and Ulverston were sent to the Ferry Hotel, in the Promenade.
It is understood the fire involved a deep fat fryer.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a single hose reel. A large fan was used to clear smoke from the building and make the area safe.
The incident took around 35 minutes to resolve.
