Lookback: Painters and decorators from Wards in Barrow tackle Walney lighthouse in September 1995 EM ARCHIVE
AN ISLAND'S unspoilt coast, abundant wildlife, and rich history will go under the spotlight at a special event next month.
"The Small Island with a Big History", a talk about Walney's history and lighthouse, as well as myths and legends from the area, will be held at 10.30am on Wednesday September 6 at Walney Library.
Booking is essential. Your place can be secured by calling the library on 01229 471742.
There will also be a free exhibition on the same theme running in the library from September 7 to 9.
