A NATURE reserve has got its sealcam working again ready for pupping season.
South Walney Nature Reserve, the home of a Grey Seal colony, has a live stream showing the restricted beach where the seals reside.
The Cumbria Wildlife Trust run reserve, apologised for the on-off nature of the sealcam over the past couple of months, and said "SealCam is working again, and there's seals on it."
The reserve said they hope the issue is now sorted in time for pupping season. The first pups of 2016 and 2017 both arrived on the 12 October. In 2015 the first recorded grey seal birth on Walney was made. Seals have used the protected South Walney beaches to haul out and rest for decades, but until 2015 it was not a breeding colony.
