BRITISH Transport Police officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following an assault at Windermere rail station.

Windermere 1
British Transport Police want to speak to this man about incidents at Windermere rail station.

On Saturday April 26 at 9.30am, a man spat at a ticket collector onboard a train that had called at the station.

“The driver spotted the man going into the toilet and, believing he was attempting to avoid paying for a ticket, asked him to produce a valid ticket for the journey.

“The man was unable to do so and became aggressive, spitting in the driver’s face.”

If you can help, call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting log PSUB/B8 of 6/6/14, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
