A North West Air Ambulance helicopter landed in Barrow Park.

The air ambulance crew were called out at 11:30am on Monday morning after it was reported a member of the public had been injured in a fall.

The patient suffered only minor injuries and did not require treatment from the air ambulance crew.

They were taken to Furness General Hospital by the North West Ambulance Service.

Have your say

I agree with steve! How ignorant are a large number of people!

I witness a motor cycle accident a few months ago and it was terrifying seeing a man being flung down the road at speed! I called 999 and the rider as the shock and made sure he stayed still and the OPERATOR dispatched the air ambulance...........it was there in 3 minutes, turns out the patient had cuts and bruises, it could have been far worse but not being medically trained how could i make an assessment of the needs of the patient!

No doubt somebody somewhere will make the counter argument of use it or loose it!

I think the problems here are down to logistics. You call the emergency services they are now all based at central hubs miles away from here and don't know Barrow park from Sherwood forest.
