Ulverston Equine club showjumping for joy after event

A SUCCESSFUL fundraiser will have its organisers showjumping for joy.

Ulverston and District Equine Club held a coffee morning at the Coronation Hall. The event proved a big hit, raising almost £300.

Club chairwoman Avril McKinley said: “It was very good, very well supported, and we made £296.51.

“This was our first time holding a coffee morning but we are going to do it again next year.

“There were probably a couple of hundred people there – it was busy the whole time.”

She said the club’s junior committee deserved praise for organising the event.

She added: “We are going to put the money towards some new jumps – it’s what we need.

“The club has been going for 30 years so obviously some of the equipment needs replacing.”

Ulverston and District Equine Club’s first show of the year will take place on April 7 at Newland Green Farm.

More details will be announced in the near future.
