Ulverston church has fancy dress celebration for start of school holidays

YOUNGSTERS arrived two by two for a special fancy dress occasion in Ulverston to mark the start of the school holidays.

As part of their annual week-long holiday club, the team at Croftlands Community Church organised a costume contest with a Noah’s Ark theme.

Luckily, the children didn’t have any heavy rain or biblical floods to contend with as they enjoyed the good weather in a variety of inventive and colourful costumes.

Lions, tigers and elephants were all on show as well as a centipede, bird of paradise and a flamingo.

The children were treated to a puppet show as they learned more about the story of Noah’s Ark.

Sarah Callahan of Croftlands Community Church said: “We’ve been doing the club all week, we started on Monday morning and we finished on Friday with a massive water fight.

“Children come along, they have fun, do crafts and play games. Everyone had a wonderful time.”
